Health & Safety Level 1

Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment.

The Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment qualification is designed for learners working in, or aspiring to work in, the construction industry.

The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment in construction. It will give learners the knowledge to undertake their jobs safely. Successful learners who also complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge test to fulfil the requirements to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s card.

This qualification covers common hazards and risks in a construction environment, safe manual handling practices, working safely at height and working safely around plant and machinery. It also covers the importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry.

We are accredited with both Highfield and Pearson Edexcel to offer this qualification either as an end of course multiple-choice test or as an assessed portfolio of evidence.

We will fund this qualification (and the CSCS test and card) for learners who participate in our English and Maths funded courses.

The recommended  course duration is over 21 guide learner hours, however, this can be reduced depending on existing knowledge and experience.
Teaching is carried out by remote classroom delivery using the Zoom online platform.
